Kylie and Kevin were really hoping for one of those gorgeous warm fall days for their shoot, but the timing just didn't quite work out. However, the weather brought a bit of moodiness to the shoot which we think made it that much better. We took a little wander around the exchange and found some great little spots, dealt with a bit of rain, and I think it even started to snow near the end of it!
Really excited for their big wedding day later this year.
Enjoy :)

I feel like we had an amazing fall season this year. We got out for quite a few shoots and had great weather, and everything just looked beautiful. It was no exception for Marie and Steve's engagement shoot at Assiniboine Forest. We took a nice wander through the forest and stopped here and there to capture some moments with the 2 of them and their pup! I had a great time getting to know them better and looking forward to their big wedding day in 2016.
Enjoy.

We took a walk through St. Vital Park on a beautiful fall evening with April and Ramon. The ground was covered in leaves which made for some fun photo's. Looking forward to spending more time with them on their wedding day. :)

Some times, you meet people that you feel like you were meant to meet. (Yes I'm geeky and spiritual like this.. :) )
Dani and Matt are no exception. The original meeting at our house with them was one of our longest meetings to date, not to mention a few bottles shared. But we had a blast, and knew that working with them was going to be just as much fun.
We ventured out to one of Corey and I's favorite Manitoba locations - Gimli, for their engagement shoot.
We started all fancy on the pier, headed to the airport for some wicked shots with a C-46 airplane, and then finished up on the beach.
Lots of laughs were had, and we loved every minute shooting with them.
I can't wait for their wedding next summer, it's destined to be just as fun - if not more!
Congrats on your engagement!

We've known Christina and Nick for a while now, these two are always all smiles and some of the kindest most genuine people we know. We headed out to Fort Whyte for their engagement shoot, it was a cloudy day with little bit of rain thrown at us, but we still had a good time and got some great photo's. We'll be shooting their wedding this coming up January at the Manitoba Club. Hopefully mother nature treats us kindly on their big day.
So we've gotten to know these two a little bit this year, we spent the day with Kevin at Scott and Carina's wedding this summer (he was the best man, and had the most epic best man speech ever!).
It's been fun getting to know them, lots of laughs and jokes with these two.
We started the shoot at Assiniboine Forest, but that didn't really last long as I think our blood supply started running low due to all of the mosquitoes attacking us. So we headed to Assiniboine Park instead, luckily there wasn't many mosquitoes there.
Really looking forward to some more good times with the two of them and documenting their wedding next year!

Ive known Steph for a long, long time, back in the prehistoric days of high school. and even though we live hours away these days, it's like we haven't missed a day apart when we can laugh and talk for hours. Which we did, when we took a road trip to Steep Rock, MB, to do their engagement photos.
Corey and I were having a blast climbing the rocks and getting the different angles, and Steph and Rick were naturals in front of the camera. We couldn't stop taking their pictures, and we actually shot until we literally ran out of light.
Congratulations Steph and Rick on your engagement - Corey and I are super excited to capture your wedding day next summer!

Last year we met Jessica at her sisters wedding, so it was great to be able to work with her again for her upcoming wedding in 2016.
Winnipeg Beach is a special place for Jessica and Tyson as this is where Tyson asked the big question! We wandered around the beach for a while and made our way to one of the famous Matlock Piers. Really can't complain when you get to hang out on the beach for a shoot.

1. Don't worry if you are nervous, or scared, etc
We hear this all the time, people aren't used to being in front of the
camera and you feel nervous and awkward. Trust us, we know how you feel,
and we are the same way when the cameras are turned on us.
This feeling will pass pretty quick, and before you know it, you will
hardly even care that we're taking your pictures.
2. How to dress?
Wear what is comfortable and wear what is you. You don't have to wear a fancy
dress, or a suit if you aren't going to feel comfortable in it. Be sure to wear
clothes that are complimentary to each other, they don't have to be matchy-matchy.
3. Where should we do our photos?
The best places are the one's that are special to both of you. If you like
to go out to the lake, then lets head out there. If you enjoy a good cup
of coffee together, we can check out your favorite cafe. Pick somewhere
with meaning and the photo's will mean more to you, and you'll feel much
more comfortable there. Can't think of any where specific? Ask us! We have lots of suggestions of places to go!
4. Enjoy it.
Don't worry about us being there, be yourselves, laugh, kiss, hug, play
around, dance. We'll help you out and direct you but don't be afraid to be
yourselves, it will shine through in your photos.
Below are a few inspiration photos from past couples sessions.
