Mackenzie + Brendan - Lac du Bonnet Engagement

When your shooting the director of golf at one of the most gorgeous courses in Manitoba you make sure that you head out there for their engagement shoot!

Brendan is a CPGA Pro, and just so happens to spend his summer at Granite Hills Golf Course (One of my favorite courses!) We had free range of the course with Mackenzie and Brendan, the weather was amazing, with some beautiful sunset light.

We were also lucky enough to have a huge full moon that evening, not to mention the bald eagle that joined in on a couple photos! Thank you Mr. Bald Eagle!

Looking forward to more fun times with these two at their wedding in 2018.

Kayla + Catlin - La Barriere Park Engagement

This was my first time out at La Barriere Park, never even knew it existed. Turns out its a pretty nice park with a great bridge to check out.

We made our way around the park finding some great light to work with and enjoying some fun laughs as well. Really wasn't too difficult to get the two of them smiling and workin some magic for the camera.

After we wrapped up the shoot and headed back to our vehicles I noticed the sky was looking exceptionally amazing and stopped them for a few last shots before they could drive away. Looking forward to shooting their wedding at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights this October.

Danielle + Shaun - Gimli Engagement Shoot

We found ourselves at some not so typical locations in Gimli for Danielle and Shauns engagment shoot. Places I've never come across before even though i've been out to Gimli more times than I can remember.

Danielle and Shaun met out in Gimli so it was more than suiting to get back out there for their shoot. Added bonus for us was that we got to stop off at our fav little restaurant Brennivins Pizza Hus afterwards for some delcious Ravioli bites! :)

While there was a beautiful sunset happening, it was pretty much behind us and we weren't in the greatest spot to capture it. However, shooting the opposite direction of the sunset can be crazy beautiful in its own way, the soft colors of the sky on the water made my eye's happy! So tip to others out there, don't always look for the sunset, check out the opposite side of the sky to shoot with too.

Enjoy.

Kylie + Kevin - Steinbach Wedding

Kylie + Kevin - Steinbach Wedding

We ventured out to Steinbach, Mb for Kylie and kevin's wedding. Going any place new is exciting for us. Not having photographed in Steinbach before, we weren't really sure what to expect. But we were pleasently surprised, and are still raving about how beautiful a few of the locations were.

Their first look with each other happened at a friends back yard. This yard was beautifully landscaped with gorgeous trees that framed the area perfectly. We didn't want to stop shooting there! Then we went off to an old rustic house. It was like time had stopped in there. So beautiful, the dried flowers and the accent rug in the main room were just the icing to the cake! Not to mention the love and romance felt between the new Mr and Mrs. It was as if they were all alone when their pictures were being taken, and just melted into each other.

The venue was decorated beautifully, you could tell a lot of thought and care was put into each and ever detail.

Narrowing down pictures is always a hard one for us, but we managed to get it down to just a few....Take a look at this gorgeous couple, their good looking wedding party, and beautiful decor - you wont regret it! :)

Congrats again to Kyle and Kevin!

Kyla + Trevor - Clear Water Bay & Minaki Engagement Shoot

Not even sure where to start with this one. Im writing this before i've even had a chance to edit the photos (which now at the time of posting this has been done a long time ago).

Kyla & Trevor wanted to do their engagement shoot at both of their family cabins and they're very special places for the two of them. Obviously we're always happy to head out to Lake of the woods and shoot some photos!

We ran into Kyla the night before at another wedding we were shooting and she was on the fence about cancelling the shoot as the weather outlook wasn't looking too great for the next day. We agree'd to see how it looked the next morning. Morning came around and it was still looking to be rainy, we agree'd we would reschedule.... however a few minutes later we got an email from Trevor saying that they wanted to go for it!

Turns out he made a good call on that one as the evening turned out absolutely perfect!

Not gonna lie, we took some beautiful photo's with Kyla and Trevor, and had one heck on an awesome time while I was at it!

Now for my more personal part of this adventure.

When I arrived at Kyla's cabin at Clear Water Bay, I was greeted by Kyla, Trevor, her Parents and her Aunt, all of whom were so kind and welcoming, offering me food, drinks, etc. Had some chit chat and they really made me feel like I was at home.

We made our way out to Trevor's cabin in Minaki. Yet again, I was welcomed right in, everyone was super friendly, food and drinks offered (I may have accepted a drink) We were going to get right into shooting, however thought it would be best to take a few minutes and relax on the deck by the lake and wait for the sun to dip a bit lower in the sky. We had some good convo's and I soaked up as much of the peacefulness of the lake as I could.

Trevors dad had made mention that he was a physiotherapist, and me being as busy as i've been lately had been putting off making a physio appointment as i've been having some troubles with my leg. So I asked if he could fix me up! haha.
He didn't hesitate and offered to have a look when I was done shooting.

Finished up the shoot and he's got his table setup on the deck and ready to see whats wrong with my leg! So there I am, getting checked out with the lake right there, a beautiful sunset, and being helped out by someone i've never met before.

After collecting my gear and heading back up to the cabin to say bye and make my way home I am handed a thank you card and gift from Kyla and Trevor (totally unexpected, but super awesome) and then handed a plate of food for my drive home from his parents (which might I add was super delicious)

I spent my drive home really processing the evening I just experienced. I got a message from Kyla and Trevor thanking me for coming out there, but really I feel like the one that should be thanking them. We are always super grateful to each and every couple that has us shoot these memories for them, but sometimes there is experiences like this one that really get you in the feels and give you a whole new appreciation for what we do. I woke up today feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world. So thank you Kyla, Trevor and both of your families for treating me so good, thank you for having me out there to capture this special time in your life. Im truly humbled and honored to be working with all of you.

Kaitlyn + Ben - Birds Hill Park Engagement

Kaitlyn and Ben wanted to head out to Birds Hill Park for their engagement shoot. To my surprise this was the first time that either of them had been there! I got to shoot in a little spot that i've been wanting to shoot at for quite some time. We had a fun time wandering around the park, having some smiles and laughs. Their wedding is happening in just a couple days from when I'm writing this. Can't wait to get out with the two of them again!

Enjoy!

Nicole + Ryan - Clearwater Bay Engagement Shoot

When we tell our couples that we love getting out of town for their shoots we really mean it. So heading out to Clearwater Bay, Ontario was a real treat for us!

Nicole and Ryan brought their boat out and we cruised around beautiful Lake Of The Woods. We found some breathtaking places to shoot at, some of which took a little skill at rock climbing to get to but we all toughed it out, as well as battled the bugs and fly's that swarmed us!

We love adventures, and couples that are down to get out and do what it takes to get some beautiful photo's. This is just a small sampling of what we captured, hope you enjoy these as much as we do.

Jenn + Adam - Grand Beach Engagement - Winnipeg Wedding Photographer

When Jenn and Adam said they wanted to go to Grand Beach for their engagement shoot i'm pretty sure I jumped out of my chair and yelled in excitement! ;)

Really though, we love getting out of the city, and shooting at the lake, or somewhere adventurous. Grand Beach is a great spot for photos. Sand dunes, camp sites, and the beach.

They spent the night before the shoot camping at the same camp site that Adam proposed at! Super romantic right!?! We got lucky it didn't rain during the shoot, but we had some awesome moody skies and some wind to create a great feel for the shoot.

You can really see the connection they have with each other shine through in these photos!
Can't wait to shoot their wedding this summer.

Bri + Paulo - Birds Hill Park Engagement Shoot

Bri + Paulo - Birds Hill Park Engagement Shoot

We've been shooting weddings, engagements, etc for a few of years now, and not going to lie but we still get nervous when we head out for a shoot.  When Bri and Paulo booked us for their wedding that level of nervousness increased quite a bit! Bri is also a wedding photographer, so now we've got that pressure on us! Don't get me wrong though, I love that we still get nervous when we head out to shoot, it just makes it so we push ourselves more and more all the time. The day we lose the nerves I think is the day that creativity and caring stops.

Bri and Paulo wanted to have their engagement shoot in the winter with lots of snow. Well up until a few days before their shoot, we really had next to no snow. Mother nature stepped in and had her way with creating the most beautiful winter wonderland we ever did see! (Thanks Mother Nature!! We owe you.)

We took a little walk through Birds Hill Park and found some really beautiful spots to shoot. We had some super cute little visitors stop by to have their pictures taken with Bri and Paulo too! After all that romance in the snow, we found our way to a little hill for some toboganning fun, which also turned into a snow fight. This shoot was a ton of fun, and Bri and Paulo sure didn't lack on bringin it!

Enjoy.

Danielle + Michael - Pinawa Engagement

When it comes to picking locations for your engagement and wedding photo's we always try to incorporate locations that mean something to our couples. However we really do love it when they give us total freedom to pick a location of our choice. With all the snow we recieved we knew a great place to make some magic for Danielle and Michael. We took them out to the old Pinawa Dam. We made the first footsteps through a lot of the snow out there, and it was really far more beautiful than we thought it would be.

Danielle and Michael and their pup Roscoe toughed out the cold and we made some beautiful things happen with them. We even made our way to the suspension bridge and took some shots their (Thanks Danielle for not letting your fear of heights stop you from getting some photos)
