Carina + Scott - Fairmont Winnipeg Wedding

A few weeks back we had the pleasure of shooting Carina and Scott's wedding.
It was HOT... like very very hot!! We're talking 40+ degree's in the church hot!
The heat didn't stop them from having an amazing day though. We made are way from Kildonan Park, to Waterfront and the Exchange, and finally to the Fairmont to cool off and get the party started. From Ukrainian Dancers to one of the greatest best man speeches ever, they had it all.

Hope you enjoy this one! I know the three of us enjoyed shooting their wedding.

Tara + Jeff - Maternity

Having been friends with Jeff for many many years now, I was really excited to hear the big news that him and Tara were expecting their first together.

We made use of his old barn and his Canola field for the shoot. Who wouldn't love owning their own field of beautiful yellow flowers right?

These two have some great chemistry and were a pleasure to spend the evening with, it was hard to stop taking their photo's.

Can't wait for your little one to arrive!

Jessica + Tyson - Winnipeg Beach Engagement

Last year we met Jessica at her sisters wedding, so it was great to be able to work with her again for her upcoming wedding in 2016.

Winnipeg Beach is a special place for Jessica and Tyson as this is where Tyson asked the big question! We wandered around the beach for a while and made our way to one of the famous Matlock Piers. Really can't complain when you get to hang out on the beach for a shoot.

So, the suspense is over. Sara and Troy did not find out what they were having , and after a very long labor, they were thrilled to announce it was a BOY!!

I met Colby when he was just a few days old, and he was so cuddly and so cute.

Officially introducing their bundle; here are a couple of our favs !

It was a smokey day when we got out for Melissa's maternity shoot. It kind of added a bit of magic to the photo's though. We took a stroll through Kilcona Park with the two expecting parents. It shouldn't be too long now until we meet the new arrival to their family.

Sara and Troy are one of very few people these days that do not find out the gender of their baby. I have no idea how they do it.  The anticipation is even killing me. I will also be doing their baby shoot as soon as the little baby is born. Keep an eye out for that, and the suspense will be no more !!

Congrats Sara and Troy. We cannot wait to find out what you're having , and meet your little addition !!

Kayla + Jarrod - Couples Shoot

Way back in the winter we had a contest and gave away a couple of free shoots. Kayla and Jarrod were one of the winners. Being outdoorsy, and loving camping they wanted to head out to Birds Hill Park for their shoot. They really made it easy to get some great photo's of them. There was lots of laughing and joking around, and they had no problem kickin up the heat every now and then too.

How to have an awesome engagement session

How to have an awesome engagement session

1. Don't worry if you are nervous, or scared, etc
We hear this all the time, people aren't used to being in front of the
camera and you feel nervous and awkward. Trust us, we know how you feel,
and we are the same way when the cameras are turned on us.
This feeling will pass pretty quick, and before you know it, you will
hardly even care that we're taking your pictures.
2. How to dress?
Wear what is comfortable and wear what is you. You don't have to wear a fancy
dress, or a suit if you aren't going to feel comfortable in it. Be sure to wear
clothes that are complimentary to each other, they don't have to be matchy-matchy.
3.  Where should we do our photos?
The best places are the one's that are special to both of you. If you like
to go out to the lake, then lets head out there. If you enjoy a good cup
of coffee together, we can check out your favorite cafe. Pick somewhere
with meaning and the photo's will mean more to you, and you'll feel much
more comfortable there. Can't think of any where specific? Ask us! We have lots of suggestions of places to go!
4. Enjoy it.
Don't worry about us being there, be yourselves, laugh, kiss, hug, play
around, dance. We'll help you out and direct you but don't be afraid to be
yourselves, it will shine through in your photos.

Below are a few inspiration photos from past couples sessions.

Kashmere + Kevin - Engaged

We had actually planned on doing this shoot the week before, however mother nature wasn't having any of that and set forth a great storm. So we rescheduled for the next week. Watching the weather closely it looked like we were going to have to put it off again as a storm was on its way. Luckily the storm stayed just south enough and no rain kept us from shooting. Glad we could get out with these two and capture some great photo's for them.

Their wedding will be coming up later this summer, so stay tuned for more of Kashmere and Kevin!

Nerissa + Paul - Winnipeg Engagement at The Forks

To say these two are fun is an understatement, we had a great time and some good laughs. Having just bought a new house they really wanted to have some of their engagement shoot done there. After taking a few 'shots' there, we made our way out to The Forks, another important place to them as this is where Paul asked the big question! We also had another photographer with us - Josh- he is the newest member of the Cojo Photo team.
Looking forward to the big day with Nerissa and Paul later this summer.
