Bri and Paulo - Winnipeg Wedding at The Met

Some people just have this thing about them, you just want to be their friends. Bri and Paulo are those people with that thing! Its been a fantastic time getting to know the two of them, and developing a friendship with them.

Did we ever have some fun with these guys on their wedding day, from lots of laughs getting ready, to dance parties on the limo bus, to fireball shots. We can't thank the two of them enough for having us capture their day, and absorbing us into their life as friends! hehe.

The weather wasn't perfect, but there's something to be said about a couple thats willing to embrace the rain and cold weather and get out there and take some amazing photo's! You'll see those down below.

A very big thanks to Alexandra Johnson for second shooting with me. :)

Ariana, Ryan and Moses! - Winnipeg Family Photo's

Back in August I surprised Amanda with a night out, and a shoot by Ariana Tennyson Photography for our anniversary. While at the shoot Ariana came up with the idea of trading shoots. She asked that I take family photo's for her!

I took her up on the offer and we got out in September to take some photo's of her wonderful little family. This was a fun shoot, I let them do their thing, unscripted and just let them have fun together.

We did manage to sneak in some shots of just her and Ryan as well. :)

Editing this shoot had me smiling the entire time!

2016 - Year in Review

2016 - Year in Review

So i'm not the greatest writer, and i'm not always sure what to say, so bear with me here.

This past year has been a whirlwind of awesomeness! We started the year with a crazy fun trip to Cabo. Our first trip alone as a couple since Nixon was born. So lets just say we may have let loose just a little bit. While we were there we met a great couple and shot some wedding photo's for them.

2016 was our busiest year yet, more weddings, engagements, and newborns than we've ever shot. To add to the mix we decided it would be a good idea to sell our house and move into a new one, so we did that during our busiest month (7 weddings in a month kind of busy!)

We also decided to add another member to our family and at the time of writing this we are still awaiting her arrival. She is due December 30th. To say we are excited for her arrival would be an understatement. Can't wait to meet our little princess!

This year has been full of amazing couples, we've been super lucky to have so many people trust us to be the one's to capture such important moments in their lives. We are always so humbled by it, and forever grateful.

We've learned so much, from how to work with couples to get real emotions and have them comfortable in front of our lenses, to Amanda working on getting those super cute newborn photo's, to figuring out our style/look in our editing, and so much more.

We also hosted our 2nd Camp Wannaknowmore Workshop out at Clear Lake. We very much support a 'Community over Competition' state of mind, and this is just one part of how we make that happen. Its such a great chance to get together with other photographers and learn from each other.

As 2017 nears we can't help but be extremely excited for whats to come!

Here's just a small sample of some of our favorite photo's from the past year.

Robyn + Lionel - Pineridge Hollow Wedding

Im going to start from the begining here. When we first met with Robyn and Lionel last year we immediately kicked things off, had a great connection with them, and pretty sure we sat around at our place chatting totally non-wedding related stuff for a couple hours.

Without a doubt these two were like immediate friends! haha. Going through the engagement and wedding with them has been a lot of fun. The wedding day was perfect, getting ready at the Fairmont, a downtown first look, and an outdoor ceremony at Pineridge Hollow. We even had some goats show up as guests.

Later in the evening I ventured outside with the guys to get some shots with them smoking cigars and having drinks. Gotta say I love the reactions we get when showing them those shots. The dance floor was crazy so I made sure to get right in on the action with everyone too.

A big thank you to Mandy Wright for helping out and second shooting with me.

Oh, don't forget to take a look at the amazing same day edit by the SUPER talented Dean Rover Films! We love working with their team, always so much fun with them. Check out their same day edit at the end of the blog post.

Jessica + Tyson - Neepawa Wedding

Two years ago we shot Jessica's sisters wedding on what was the rainiest days we've ever shot. Jessica and Tyson's wedding was the complete opposite of that. The sun was shining and the weather was perfect for a fall day.

The wedding was held on Jessica's parents property, which might I add is amazing! Huge tree's in the yard, and the had their ceremony in the most beautiful spot ever, the tree's were magical, for a spot that is usually used as a pasture it sure made a great spot to get married.

Right after the ceremony I hopped in the back seat of Tyson's car with them and we sped off to take some photo's. It was like a getaway out of a movie.

The day was flawless and so much fun. It was great to see some familiar faces and reminisce with guests about the "wet wedding" from a couple years ago.

All the best you guys!

Kelsey + Ed - Hitch'n Post Wedding

Describing Kelsey and Ed as fun would be an understatement. These two and their wedding party were an absolute blast!

After spending the morning getting ready/having a couple drinks we all made our way out to the Hitch'n Post for Kelsey and Ed's first look. When it came time to the ceremony it was only suiting that Ed pull up to the aisle on his dirt bike!

The evening was full of familiar faces for us and didn't disappoint in the fun dept. either. After the sun went down We headed outside to get some more photos.

Enjoy!

Amanda - Birdshill Park Maternity Shoot

To my wife.

You are beautiful, not only on the outside but even more so on the inside. You are growing our second child inside of you, and as hard as it can be on you, as little sleep as you might get, it is all going to be worth it so very soon when our little princess makes her appearance to the world.

I can't thank you enough for going through all of this again. I will be right by your side on the crazy journey of life raising these two wonderful children. :)

Also, thank you for getting out of bed nice and early to head out on such a snowy/wet day so I could get these photos.

Dani + Matt - The Met Winnipeg Wedding

We have known Dani and Matt for a few years now. We've only ever had good times, and lots of laughs when they are around, so we knew that their wedding was going to be nothing less, and we weren't wrong.

It was a beautiful September day, and everything went beautifully.

They had their first look under a bridge near the Forks, then spent a little bit of time wandering around Waterfront taking more pics before their stunning ceremony at The Exchange Chruch. It was simply decorated, but stunning with the pop of florals by the always talented Britney Fache of Fache Florals.

Their reception was held at the Met. A classic, elegant venue that fit the look of their wedding perfectly. The evening was spent with a lot of laughs, a few happy tears, and a lot of partying and dancing!

Congrats to the amazing couple - and we can't wait to get out with you guys again soon!

Michelle + Kevin - Stonewall Wedding

So happy to have gotten to shoot Michelle and Kevin's wedding. We first met them at a previous wedding we shot (Carrina and Scott). I knew things would be fantastic when Kevin dropped one of the greatest best man speech's we've ever heard!

We had an absolute blast with them, lots of good laughs and joking around from beginning to end. The wedding party was nothing short of fun either.

They had their ceremony at Stonewall Quarry park, followed up with their reception there too.
I can't say it enough how much we love when a couple is willing to take a break from the ceremony around sunset for 10-15 mins and head out for some more photo's. So thank you guys for that, cause I absolute love them!

Enough of me rambling, scroll down and take a look at how their day went!

Big thanks to Michelle Blais for second shooting with me. :)
