For as long as I can remember it’s been a dream of mine to visit Hawaii, well it finally happened! I’ve known Edwin for longer than I can remember, him and my brother were always great friends so I’d see Edwin around the house quite a bit. One day I got a message from Edwin telling me he wanted us to shoot his wedding in Hawaii, on the island of Oahu. I may have gotten a slight bit excited by this. We got together at their condo, I met Saki for the first time and we had some pizza together and talked about the plans for the big exciting day.
So here we go, Amanda and I hopped on a plane to Vancouver followed up with another to Waikiki!! First thoughts upon landing in Waikiki.. holy smokes it’s hot here and whaaaaaaat!! We’re in Hawaii!!!!!
We stayed in Waikiki a block from the beach, pretty much perfect! If you’ve never been to Waikiki let’s just say it’s kinda like Vegas, minus the casinos and smoking but with an amazing beach and far friendlier people. We soaked up the sun, watched surfers surf, enjoyed great food and maybe a few mai tai’s!
I’ll get back to a few of our adventures in a bit or maybe I’ll do a separate post for those.
Now for Saki and Edwin’s wedding day! Obviously we kicked it off with a power breakfast at McDonald’s! Amanda made her way to the guys hotel while they got ready and I went over to Saki’s hotel while she got ready with her girls. We then met up with all their family and friends on the big tour bus to make our way to Paradise Cove for the ceremony and reception. The heat that day was no joke! It was hot, like crazy hot! That didn’t stop everyone from having a great time though. Their ceremony included some fun Hawaiian traditions (they had to kiss for as long as the officiant could blow into a conch shell). Cocktail hour was fantastic, they even had Hawaiian shave ice available for everyone (seriously good stuff!). We wandered along the beach and took so many photos! Paradise Cove was a spectacular wedding venue. Once the sun started to get close to where the sky meets the ocean we headed back down to the beach for some more photos, and wow the Hawaiian sunset didn’t disappoint! We spent the rest of the night partying with everyone there and having an amazing good time!
No apologies for all the pics below. Also stay tuned for part two of our time with Saki and Edwin where we hike to Manoa Falls for another shoot!
Back in June I spent the day with Michelle and James. We did their first look outside the front door of their home, and then headed out to Assiniboine Park for photos. Every thing was going great when out of no where a crazy rain storm hit and sent us waiting inside our vehicles for 30 mins. This was the same time that a lot of High School grads were going on and needless to say I think a lot of them got a bit wet while having their photo's done too.
Once the rain went away the sun was back out for a beautiful day, we shot a bit more and then headed over to the Qualico centre to wrap up the evening with their reception. Lots of fun and good laughs with these two and their wedding party and family.
Katie, Jeremy and I met up on a warm evening in June. Katie had scoped out a few spots she wanted to have their engagement photos taken and it ended up being one of my favorite spots!
These two are so in love and it shines through in their photos - I can't wait for their wedding day next month.

I do enjoy the great outdoors, and love it when our couples share that love for it as well. Michelle and Ben were up for a little hike at Mcgillavray falls. We met up out there and made our way around the trail, which may have included swatting away countless black flies! We survived and had a good bit of fun out there. Looking forward to more fun on the upcoming wedding day!
Fun fact!! (I like fun facts, that’s also a fun fact!) Cassandra lived right across from my parents place, we were pretty much neighbours for the longest time! It’s always a great feeling when someone you know has you be the one to capture these amazing life events of theirs! After their beautiful ceremony we headed to Fraser’s Grove park for some photos and then made our way to the kings head pub for some more photos, snacks and a few drinks (fun fact, I love the Kings head, they make great Caesar’s, and I’ll usually have one while there). After a few photos around the kings head we proceeded to The Clarion Hotel to get the party started!! We even managed to get on the rooftop for some photos with them!!

Hope you enjoy!
We spent a beautiful day at pineridge hollow with Katie and Adam for their wedding. They opted for a first look which left Adam in tears, and maybe a few others too. We headed into the wilds of birdshill park for some photos with the two of them and their wedding party, and then back to Pineridge Hollow to make things official with their wedding ceremony. Lots of good laughs and fun to be had that evening.
Time to start scrolling through the pics below!
I met up with these two on a warm summer evening in St. Boniface. Right away we hit it off - they're so sweet, genuine and loving. We laughed the whole time and they were naturals in front of the camera :)
I am so looking forward to their fall wedding - thanks guys & see you soon!

You may remember from their engagement shoot blog post, that I used to babysit Brett and his brothers. Oh man those three were a wild handful! Not much has changed since then other than they are grown up and I don’t babysit them anymore. It was truly an honour to be able to capture Brett and Sara’s big day, and to see so many familiar faces too!
Their wedding was held at the beautiful Ashgrove Acres. It’s always such a pleasure shooting there, everything is so well taken care of and the owners are fantastic people too.
The weather didn’t really want to cooperate for us that day, moments before the ceremony it poured rain, lots of it! But Sara and Brett kept it together and waited it out for it to stop and then got the ceremony going outside as planned. It was a pretty great day after that, lots of great speeches, good laughs, and just an excellent time had by all that day!
Enough of me yammering away, check the photos out for yourself!
So here’s a run down of how things went with Sara and Chris on their shoot. We met up at The kings head pub, and headed out for a trek around the exchange. I know the exchange is a very popular area for engagement shoots but I try to just wander around and find different spots with beautiful light and that’s exactly what we did. We eventually made our way to one particular spot, they were gettin all wild and having a kiss while I snapped a few photos when out of no where a large man pops out of a building door and starts giving me a bit of a hard time... turns out he thought I was taking photos of skateboarders on his fancy new deck/patio edging. He soon realized that wasn’t the case and then asked if we wanted to take some photos on the rooftop of his building, ummm let me think about that, of course we do. So he took us up there and then left us to do as we pleased. One of those wrong place at the right time situations I guess. After that we continued our adventure around the exchange finding more great light and having some good laughs and conversation.
So that’s about how it played out, hope you enjoy the photos!
What an evening this was! We drove out to Whiteshell provincial park, and started hiking out to where we were going to shoot... I took the wrong path! So we had to turn back and start over. We hiked and hiked, and Jess and Chris may have enjoyed a drink or two on that hike, I can't say for sure. We spotted a deer, a fox, lots of frogs, and possible a bear or some other large animal which growled or grunted at us a number of times on the way back in the dark. We did have a ton of fun and they were literally up for anything and everything I tossed their way! I love adventures, and this one was a great one!
Enough of my chit chat, go check the pics!
