Samantha and Sean made sure to go from one extreme to the other with their engagement and wedding, and by that I mean they dd their engagement on a cold snowy winter day, and then had their wedding on a hot beach in Cuba! We had some fun messing around in the snow and capturing some sweet moments between them. We’ll be posting their Cuba wedding on the blog in the near future so watch for that!
I love winter shoots, even though as I sit here writing this it is snowing in April, and i’m wishing the snow was gone. We had some good laughs during Tiffany and Geralds engagement shoot, some of which might have been at Geralds expense for being cold. Really excited that we get to capture their wedding for them next year too!
Enjoy!
What an absolute blast it was spending the day with Iris and Jonah back in November. The day was full of good laughs, a few tears and all kinds of fun! They both got ready in the same Hotel (different rooms) so it made it easy for me to jump back and forth between them to get their getting ready photos.
We met up at Aspire Studios for their first look and many more photo’s. It was a pretty chilly November day so its a good thing they had a spot for photo’s indoors. Once we made it to St. Boniface Golf Course we took a few more photo’s outside, and then got the ceremony going, and followed that up with a wild evening of partying!
So happy to have been a part of this super special day!
Enjoy!
This is something that I’ve been thinking about a bit over the past year or so. It’s something I’d love to see more of and be a part of.
Manitoba and Western Ontario are so damn beautiful. There is so many amazing places so close to home. You don’t need to elope across the planet (we love those too!) and you don’t need to plan a big huge wedding (yup we love those as well) but we want to toss out this idea of Local Elopements.
A local elopement would take a lot less planning on your part, a lot less expenses, and could be just as beautiful and as special for you. It doesn’t even need to be on a weekend, you could literally get married on a Tuesday if you wanted!
You may not need to worry about bouquets for bridesmaids, or boutonnieres for groomsmen, or table settings and everything else that comes along with a large wedding. Even the amount of waste that is produced from a wedding would be far far less for an elopement.
We’ve had the opportunity to shoot at many great spots in Manitoba and western Ontario, most of them being engagements and I can’t help but think of how amazing it would be to spend a day adventuring with a couple on their wedding day in these spots.
We’re throwing this out there to all you wonderful people, if you are getting married or know someone that is, why not consider a local elopement? We’d love to be a part of it and help you with planning it and making it perfect for you!

The Forks is quite popular these days, and I love it. There’s been so much more to do there over the past couple years, from all kinds of outdoor activities, to great places to eat and have drinks inside. I met up with Christine and Mack and we spent some time wandering around inside and outside. We then took a walk around the Exchange and had a beautiful bit of snow to add to the romance of the photos.
Winter shoots have become a favorite for us over the past years, I know it can be miserably cold out, but its also super beautiful and just has a bit of magic about it. Don’t get me wrong, I still love wearing shorts and getting out in the summer for all kinds of good adventurous shoots!
Enjoy!
Kelsey and Curtis celebrated their one year anniversary with a photo shoot! So much fun! They invited me out to their dairy farm which was amazing!
We drove out to the fields and hopped out of the truck soon to be surrounded with soooo many cows! It was a pretty wild experience, and made for some really great photos. We always suggest doing your photo’s somewhere that has meaning to you, and well I think if you are a dairy farmer, what better place than on your own dairy farm surrounded by cows!
I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do!

Oh what a fun day this was! I really enjoyed the day with Stacey and Travis and their family and friends out at The Rustic Wedding Barn. Once Stacey and her bridesmaids were ready we stepped outside to capture her first look with Travis. It was a sweet and cute moment between the two of them. After that we spent some time exploring the venue grounds and taking lots of photo’s before the ceremony. They had a sweet ceremony surrounded by their close family and friends and after that it was time to head into the beautifully decorated Barn!
As always I was keeping my eye on the sunset, and it didn’t look like we were going to get much of a sunset but we headed out to catch a few photo’s. We finished those up and no sooner than we had walked back into the venue I was calling them to come back out, the sunset was pure beautiful, and Stacey was so excited she ran out to the field ahead of us! :)
It was such an absolute pleasure to be a part of such a special day for these two! So very excited to share these photo’s with everyone!

Not all engagement sessions need to happen in the evening before sunset, this one with Ashley and Anthony was in the morning, and we made use of that wonderful morning light. The air was cool and crisp, but the two of them brought the heat! They were both excited to get out for their engagement shoot, which always makes for a really great time for all of us.
If anyone wants to do their engagement shoot in the morning, im all for it!
Enjoy!
I met Courtney and Adrian for the first time at The Forks for their engagement session. Without having much of a previous relationship established it means i’ve got to get them comfortable and relaxed enough to capture some good genuine moments in a short time. I enjoy that challenge and feel like its something i’ve gotten pretty decent at over the years. We walked around The Forks and made some great photo’s and got to know each other a bit better. Its really great getting to know all of the different couples we get to work with.
Enjoy!
The Forks was a pretty popular spot for engagements this past year and Im alright with that! I think The Forks is doing great things to get people down there these days! One of those things being beers at The Common, which happens to be how Holly and Ryans session ended :)
The fall colors were stunning and so were Holly and Ryan! Hope you enjoy the photo’s we made below!
