Sometimes wedding plans have to change a few times before the big day happens. With all kinds of restrictions for allowed gathering sizes, and travel not allowed Alyssa and Allan made the decision to elope.
They had their elopement at Clear Lake in Riding Mountain National Park. It couldn’t have been any more perfect. A beautiful and intimate ceremony beside the ice covered lake, and then a dinner for the two of them at Lake House in the outdoor hut. They actually ended up having to come inside and eat as it did get pretty cool out. Once inside we soon found out that the other two couples dining in there were celebrating their anniversaries! So it was one big celebration for everyone.
After a wonderful meal, we headed back to their AirBNB and they got out of their wedding clothes and into the hot tub for some champagne celebrations and a few more photo’s!
Take a moment and scroll through the photo’s, really hope you enjoy!
A beautiful spring session at Birds Hill Park with Allie and Thomas, and their cute pup!
The weather was great, no bugs to bother us, and just these two having all kinds of fun while I pressed the buttons on a camera!
Enjoy!
Back in January of 2020 I got to capture Chad’s surprise proposal to Emma at The Forks in front of everyone hanging out at The Common (wow, I miss the days of people being able to get out and enjoy all of the things!). It was back then that I knew these two were something special, and people I wanted to be around. Both so kind and full of love, also good for some laughs too!
Fast forward through all of this pandemic stuff and a bunch of changed wedding plans, and these two finally got married!! With just their closest family and friends surrounding them they made their wedding day something really amazing, not only for them, but for everyone that got to be there in person, or around the world through Zoom.
They found themselves an amazing Airbnb, and decorated it just perfectly. They proved that you don’t need to have a huge wedding to have a beautiful wedding. The Airbnb was fantastic, the huge property had lots of great spots for photo’s, and even a trampoline for some fun! (Scroll down to see what thats about!) Chad even brought a big bag of golf balls and some clubs, and fired off a few balls with the guys and myself.
Their ceremony was sweet, emotional, and meaningful, leaving a few people with some tears running down their cheeks. Dinner was prepared by Emma, in her wedding dress! and everyone enjoyed a great meal and drinks together before we caught one of the most amazing sunsets ever.
A small intimate wedding may not have been what they thought their wedding would be, but I don’t think anyone including them was upset about it. It really was a special day.
Lindsay and Justin met up with me on a beautiful March evening (I believe this was sometime between second sprint and third winter. haha) We made our way around Birds Hill Park and got to know each other better while capturing some really sweet and special moments for them at the same time. Looking forward to their wedding at the end of July and being a part of their amazing wedding day!
I was lucky enough to be able to head out to Pinawa Dam with Mary and Krystal earlier this year. It was so much fun capturing their love for each other and getting to know them and have some great laughs together. There may have been snow on the ground but they kept each other warm with piggy back rides and cuddles in the snow! We didn’t get a change to get out for many winter shoots this year so I was super excited that I got to head out with Mary and Krystal on this beautiful winter day.
Pinawa is such a beautiful place no matter what time of the year too! I'f you’ve never been there I highly suggest you check it out.
I believe this was our last shoot of 2020 before we got locked down for months. This shoot was part of a mentor session for a local photographer wanting to expand her skills. We got out with Brenna and Drew in the exchange. Their outfits were perfect for the colors and look of the Exchange! We wandered, and had some good times. I love this shoot, it was so much fun, and love how it turned out. Not a terrible way to end off 2020.
I’ve known Donny for quite a while, since way back in the day when we used to build cool custom trucks! It was great to hear from him when he asked if i’d do a shoot with him and his girlfriend Randi. It was good fun catching up, and chatting about the old days!
I loved the simple black outfits that they wore and they had some good fun and lots of smiles and laughs. We lucked out with a beautiful sunset, and even had a bit of snow on the ground too!
Thanks for having me capture some moments for you two!
Alyssa and Allan met up with me in The Exchange District in downtown Winnipeg last fall for their engagement session! Right off the bat these two were all kinds of fun and I knew we’d be having a great time on this shoot. We wandered around and found some interesting light and cool places for photo’s for their personalities to come out. We had some great laughs too, and I can’t wait for their wedding coming up very soon. Excited to share these with everyone!
