A beautiful summer evening spent walking through Kings Park with Mithila and Jonathan! These two were full of laughs, smiles, goofing around and just a great time together. Kings Park is a beautiful location for engagement photos in Winnipeg. Lots of trails, trees, nature, open space. Looking forward to more good times with the two of them later this year for their wedding.
Enjoy!
I don’t always spend a full day with couples for their wedding, take Jenna and Andrew for example. I spent 2 hours with them to capture some photos for them to remember their day. We did a few family photo’s at Allure Studio’s and then took a stroll through the exchange district together. After that we went our separate ways! Not everyone needs or wants the full day covered and thats perfectly fine. So don’t hesitate to reach out to us to come up with a custom package for your needs.
Enjoy!
What a wonderful day! Everything was as perfect as could be for Melissa and Bryton on their wedding day.
My day started capturing some getting ready photo’s of Melissa and her girls, and then it was off to St. Boniface Golf Course for their beautiful outdoor ceremony. They were surrounded by so many family and friends it was just amazing!
From there we made our way to St. Vital Park and Henteleff Park for some photo’s and then it was off to her parents place to get the party started!
The evening was full of fun, great speeches, and lots of drinks and laughs!
Enjoy!

Wedding 2 of 2 for this day of weddings with Evergreen Weddings out at Hawthorn Estates!
Rebecca and Jules opted for the afternoon wedding, and it was wonderful. The team switched up the florals (Yellow Birch Florals), the tables, etc. to make it unique and different from the wedding before them. They had a sweet ceremony outside of the venue, followed up with some photo’s around Hawthorn Estates. Urban Prairie Cuisine created another delicious meal (We ate very good that day).
There was some really sweet moments from this day, and I loved being able to capture two weddings in the same day.
If you are looking to do something similar to these smaller, shorter weddings I would certainly suggest reaching out to Holly at Evergreen Weddings!
Enjoy!
This was wedding one of two for the day out at Hawthorn Estates. We teamed up with Evergreen Weddings and an amazing list of vendors to host 2 different weddings in one day. Krysten and Tyler had their wedding in the morning, and everything was so perfect, beautiful florals from Yellow Birch Florals, and an amazing meal from Urban Prairie Cuisine. The weather was perfect for their outdoor ceremony, and photo’s afterwards. With limits on gathering sizes there was just a small amount of family and friends that attended the wedding, but that really gave them the chance to spend more time with each and everyone there.
Watch for the next blog to see the 2nd wedding of this day!
Enjoy!
a beautiful evening on the beach with these two sweethearts. We pretty much had the beach all to ourselves, except for the thousands of birds that were there! It was fun though, Lindsay and Mike chased them into the air. We got our feet wet, enjoyed the romantic light of the sunset and just had a very enjoyable evening together. Can’t wait for their wedding to capture more moments and have more fun times!
I didn’t get to spend too much time with Jeanne and Bryan, in fact this was the first time i’d met them. They had a sweet intimate wedding with their closest of family and friends at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
We made our way to the tower to do their first look and a few photos. What a view from up there. We wandered through the museum capturing a few more photo’s and then they had their ceremony, which also included a tea ceremony. After that I headed outside with them for a few more photo’s and then I said my goodbye and they went and joined their family and friends for a nice dinner.
Enjoy!
An evening at the lake is never anything to be upset about. Shana and Dallas invited me out to the family cabin and we spent a bit of time together, enjoying the fire, the warm sun and some of that beautiful sunset. Loads of smiles and laughs from these two beauties. Looking forward to the next time I spend some time with them.
Side note, they also gave me a sweet gift of some new golf balls! bonus points for them! :)
A guide to planning a wedding in Winnipeg, Manitoba and surrounding areas.
We’ve shot hundreds of weddings over the past 10+years in the Winnipeg area, and around the world. We’ve created this guide to help you plan your wedding!
Who are we?
We are Corey and Amanda Jonasson and we have been photographing weddings for over 10 years now! Corey got his start to photography shooting bands, and custom car and truck shows. With some pressure by a co-worker he was talked into shooting a wedding and quickly became obsessed with capturing couples engagements and weddings. Amanda got her start with some lessons from Corey in the field behind their house. She soon came along on engagement sessions and then weddings. She is now primarily into capturing super cute and adorable babies! You can look at her wonderful work here at www.babycojo.com
Where the heck do we start with planning our wedding?
We aren’t wedding planners, but we’ve been to a few weddings and can help you with some tips, we will also suggest some wedding planners below.
What time of year do you want to get married? This is probably a good first step to figure out. Once you’ve got that part nailed down you can head on to the next step.
What should we book first?
Wedding venue or Wedding Photographer? Thats a tough question, and im going to be a little biased and say you should pick your wedding photographer first and check their availability, then cross check the availability with your preferred wedding venues. Why do I suggest that? A wedding photographer is going to capture your day beautifully no matter where it is (at least a great experienced photographer will) So if you have a photographer that you really want to capture your day, its probably best to get in touch with them and the venue you want to see if they are both available. Don’t get me wrong, a great venue is really going to set the mood for your wedding day, but on the same note you will be spending more time with your wedding photographer than pretty much anyone else on your wedding day. You are trusting them to capture all the moments you are and aren’t aware of.
Do we need a wedding planner?
Hey, that whats up to you, a wedding can be stressful and there’s a lot of moving parts. If you are up for the challenge of doing it all on your own, then go for it. If you want someone with lots of experience, knows the ins and outs of the industry, and which vendors will take care of you the best, then heck yeah, get a wedding planner!

This day couldn’t have been any more perfect. Brynn and Braden were surrounded by so many family and friends, the weather was perfect, Ashgrove Acres was spectacular as always, heck they even had their two beautiful pup’s along for the wedding.
Brynn and Braden did a ‘no look - first look’ we had them back up to each other and hold hands and say a few words to one another before the ceremony. Super sweet!
The ceremony was wonderful and included both of their dog’s, as well as some cute little kiddos coming down the aisle. A slight mishap when KJBMom forgot the rings, but made for some good light hearted laughs. :)
We' had a lot of familiar faces at this wedding, you see we’d shot 5 different couples weddings that were all there. Amazing to be able to see so many at one time. After the ceremony we took off with the wedding party for some photo’s and the guests made their way to the outdoor patio for the cigar bar, outside bar serving up some great signature drinks and some live music playing too!
With the reception underway there was hilarious speeches, tons of laughs, great food, and a lively dance floor.
We snuck out with Brynn and Braden for some sweet sunset photos in the field. Once the sun went down there was a surprise in store for everyone. Brynn’s Dad had arranged for one of the most amazing fireworks displays we’d ever seen, it seemed to keep going and going! What a way to top off a beautiful day.
